Fans of The returning staff makes me feel sure that the last cour will be just as good as the ones before are excited to hear about the last chapter of the series. The official social media accounts confirmed that Cour 3 will start airing in 2026, right after the second cour finished airing. This next part will finish the SCIENCE FUTURE** story and give the long-running adventure its real ending.
The announcement was posted online with a fun rocket emoji, which stood for the next step in Senku's scientific journey. The message also thanked fans for watching the anime all the way through. The last episode of this arc and the whole Dr. STONE anime series will be Cour 3. That means the story about using science to rebuild civilization is almost over.
From the start, the SCIENCE FUTURE season was going to be a three-cour project. The first cour aired in the winter of 2025, and the second cour started airing in Japan on July 10, 2025. Fans are excited to see how the adventure will end in the third and last cour next year, now that the second part is done.
Shuhei Matsushita is still in charge of directing the anime at TMS Entertainment. Kurasumi Sunayama is in charge of writing the series, and Yuko Iwasa is in charge of designing the characters. Tatsuya Kato, Hiroaki Tsutsumi, and Yukihiro Kanesaka wrote the music. The returning staff makes me feel sure that the last cour will be just as good as the ones before it.
Riichiro Inagaki wrote the first Dr. STONE manga, and Boichi drew it. From 2017 to 2022, Weekly Shonen Jump published it in installments. It ended with 27 volumes. The anime version has stayed very close to the main story, which is about Senku's efforts to fix technology and start over with human society.
Dr. STONE starts thousands of years after a strange event turns all people into stone statues. Senku Ishigami, a smart teenager, wakes up one day from his stone prison. Senku doesn't give up hope; instead, he decides to use science to bring civilization back. With the help of his strong childhood friend Taiju Oki and many new friends, he slowly brings back old inventions like soap, electricity, and even high-tech machines.
The problems got worse as the story went on. Senku and his team traveled the world, met new friends and enemies, and had to make tough choices. The last part of their mission, which includes advanced technology and even dreams of exploring space, is what SCIENCE FUTURE is all about. The rocket emoji in the announcement suggests that the last course may have the biggest scientific breakthrough in history.
Crunchyroll, a streaming service, still has all the seasons of the show, including the newest episodes of SCIENCE FUTURE. This lets fans from other countries watch the journey at the same time as fans in Japan. The platform calls the show an epic adventure that takes place over millions of years of scientific history, from the Stone Age to modern discoveries.
A lot of fans are sad to know that the anime is coming to an end. Dr. STONE is different from other shows because it combines real science with fun action and humor. It teaches people about chemistry, physics, engineering, and working together in a fun and creative way. The last cour is supposed to have exciting parts and a satisfying ending for Senku's dream.
There hasn't been an exact release date set for 2026 yet, but the news that it will happen has already gotten people excited on social media. Fans are already coming up with ideas about how the story will end and what new scientific discoveries will be made next.
The countdown to the big finale has begun with Cour 3 coming up. Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE is getting ready to end its long-running story with one last season full of science, hope, and discovery.
